Terms & Conditions

These terms cover the use of this website and enquiries made through it. They are not a substitute for the specific arrangement we agree with you for a particular job.

01

About this website

This website provides general information about the locksmith services offered by Oakleigh Locksmith Service. The content is written to be accurate and current, but it describes services generally rather than making commitments about your specific door, lock or property.

02

Enquiries and quotes

Submitting a quote request or calling us starts a conversation. It does not create a booking, and it does not commit either party until we have agreed on the work.

Any indication of cost given before we have seen the job is an estimate based on what you have described. Where the situation on site differs from that description, we will discuss it with you before proceeding.

03

Authority to instruct work

Locksmith work may only be arranged by a person entitled to instruct it — an owner, an authorised tenant, a managing agent, or another authorised representative. We may decline to carry out work where authority cannot be established.

In rental properties, changes to locks generally require the owner or managing agent’s consent. In apartment buildings, common-property doors and building-wide key systems are controlled by the owners corporation.

04

Scope of our work

We work on mechanical locks, keys and door hardware. We do not hold ourselves out as providers of electronic access control systems, alarms, safes or restricted key systems, and we do not issue compliance certifications.

Where a door, frame or existing hardware is already damaged or has been altered, our work may be limited by that condition. We will explain any such limitation before starting.

05

Availability

Our stated opening hours are 7:00 AM – 12:00 AM. Enquiries made outside those hours will be responded to once we are open. We do not describe our service as 24/7 and we do not promise a fixed attendance time.

06

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Nothing in them limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
